1. What makes the Global MBA so different from a more traditional MBA?
Many things. The Global MBA (GMBA) requires travel to both Germany and India, most MBA programs do not require international travel. All GMBA degree courses focus on international topics and issues and are taught by instructors from the U.S., Germany, and India. The admissions process is rigorous and selective. Each cohort is comprised of 10 students from UW Oshkosh. 10 students from Germany and 10 students from India. And, you will have many opportunities to network with both students and faculty from Germany and India.
2. The Global MBA is one of the masters degrees offered by the UW Oshkosh College of Business, which is internationally accredited by AACSB. What does AACSB accreditation mean?
AACSB is an acronym for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the oldest and most prestigious international accrediting body specifically for Schools/Colleges of Business. AACSB accreditation is difficult to achieve and difficult to maintain. Fewer than 20% of business programs in the U.S.and fewer than 15% of business programs world-wide have achieved AACSB accreditation. AACSB accreditation guarantees that you will be taught by full-time, Ph.D.-qualified faculty who have strong academic credentials and are professionally active in consulting, applied research, and serve on boards of profit and non-profit organizations. It guarantees that you will participate in a curriculum that is comprehensive, current, and blends theory with practice.
3. Are all the classes taught in English?
Yes, all are taught in English.
4. How can you reserve a seat in the next cohort?
By applying, getting admitted, and submitting the $2,000 non-refundable deposit.
5. How many students are enrolled in each cohort?
There will be a maximum of 10 student each from UW Oshkosh, Darmstadt University in Germany and T.A. Pai Institute in India -- or a maximum of 30 students in each cohort.
6. What happens when UW Oshkosh reaches its 10 student maximum?
We will begin a waiting list, in case one of the 10 students withdraws before the August start date. If no one withdraws, all students on the waiting list will join the next cohort the following August.
7. How much of a time commitment is involved in this program?

19. When should I apply?

20. Do I have to take the GMAT or GRE?
It depends. If you have earned a domestic masters or higher degree, you do not need to take the GMAT or GRE. If you have neither of the above, then the answer is yes, you will need to provide a GMAT or GRE score in your application portfolio.

The only prerequisites for the Global MBA Core Courses are the Level I Foundation Courses.
22. When should I take the Level I Foundation Courses?
You can enroll in Level I Foundation Courses either before OR after you are admitted. Admitted students have a higher priority when registering for classes. A schedule of classes can be found on the MBA web site.
23. Can I start the Global MBA Core Courses before the Foundation Courses are done?
Unfortunately, you cannot. The Global MBA Core Courses are very intense and time-consuming and all instructors will assume you have completed all the Level I Foundation Courses. If you have specific questions or concerns, please contact Lynn Mozingo.
