GMBA Curriculum
Level 1 - Foundation Courses
Foundation courses can be completed either before or after admission to the GMBA. However, Foundation courses must be completed before being admitted in Full Standing to the GMBA program.
Foundation courses are designed to provide the necessary basic academic business background for students who have not completed prior business courses. The completion of all Foundation courses is required prior to enrollment in Level II (core) courses.
The following Foundation courses are required for the GMBA:
BUS 700 - Accounting Foundations (financial and managerial)
BUS 710 - Foundations of Information Systems
BUS 712 - Foundations of Statistics
BUS 730 - Finance Foundations
BUS 740 - Foundations of Production/Operations Management
BUS 750 - Organizational Foundations
BUS 770 - Marketing Foundations
ECON 704 - Basic Economic Theory (micro and macro)
Credits earned in Foundation courses or equivalents do not apply to the 30 credits required for the GMBA degree. In addition to the Foundation requirements stated above, all students are expected to have adequate competencies in basic math skills through college algebra.
Generally speaking, graduate level Foundation courses are available every semester online and once per year at UW Oshkosh and in Green Bay. A limited number of online Foundation courses are available in summer. For current semester offerings please go to www.mba.uwosh.edu, and select the appropriate semester from the right side menu.
If you would like a complimentary evaluation of your transcripts to determine Foundation requirements, please contact Lynn Mozingo at gmba@uwosh.edu.
Level II - Core Courses
The Global MBA Program
The Global MBA Program is an intensive global educational experience that is designed to allow working professionals to complete a MBA degree while continuing in their current position. The highly interactive cohort lockstep structure provides opportunities for cross cultural networking.
- The GMBA is an 19-month program (three semesters), excluding the Foundation courses, which is to be delivered by the respective institutions in their countries, prior to the commencement of the program. Typically, there is a week-long break between courses and a two-week break between semesters.
- The participants will receive course materials online and will also spend two weeks every five months in two alliance universities/countries. These two week sessions will involve company visits and cultural activities as well as in-class activities.
- The program begins in July of each calendar year. The GMBA Program will have a maximum of 30 participants (approximately equal representation from each of the three host countries).
The Course and Credits (1 credit is equivalent to about 14 hours of classroom contact) in the program will be:

A significant portion of the GMBA course work is completed online, it is important that students be comfortable taking courses through the Internet.
Internet courses are the same quality as on-site courses;weekly assignments will be required, just as in on-site classes. You can communicate with the instructor, other class members and your team members on discussion boards and/or via email in Desire2Learn (D2L) 24 hours per day.
You will need to keep up with the course assignments and discussion; we recommend logging on at least every other day to stay current with class activities. You do not have to log on at a certain time (asynchronous).
All GMBA students are required to have easy access to an up-to-date computer with high speed Internet access and an active email account.
