Internet Courses
| Other than that listed in the table below, no additional software is necessary (unless indicated on the course detail page) although you may be downloading free software such as RealPlayer and Adobe Reader (for pdf files). Starting Fall 2007, the some courses may use MicroSoft Office 2007.

Please be aware that you may not be able to access some aspects of Internet courses at your work site due to corporate internal controls (i.e., firewalls or proxy servers). You may also not be able to perform some of the assignments if you do not have the minimum computer configuration listed below. Check with your employer's Information Technology department for potential access problems. Because of hidden barriers at work sites, we STRONGLY encourage you to use a home computer for Internet courses. If you register for an Internet course and do not have the minimum computer requirements listed below, you will most likely be on your own to identify and remedy problems. Therefore, if you don't have the minimum computer configuration, it is your best interest not to register for an online course until you have them. |
| The following table lists both the minimum hardware and software configuration for course participation and suggestions if you are contemplating purchasing a new computer. The Minimum Configuration listed below is a "bare bones" list of components. If your computer barely meets these specifications, you will probably get slow responses from the Internet. The more powerful your CPU, memory, modem, and ISP, the greater the potential for quick responses. Because of slow response time and incompatibilities, you cannot effectively participate in Internet courses if you do not have the minimum configurations listed below: |
